Vic: Ambulance paramedic tells of horror fiery crash

An ambulance officer says paramedics couldn't get close to last night's quadruple fatal
crash in Melbourne .. because the car had turned into a massive fireball.

Paramedic DARREN SUTTON says he couldn't even approach the car in Melbourne's west
while the male youths were incinerated inside.

Disaster victim identification police have been called in to determine exactly who
died .. when the Holden Commodore speared off the freeway at Altona North shortly before
6.45pm (AEDT) .. striking a tree and bursting into flames .. killing all inside.

Mr SUTTON says the scene was horrifying for bystanders .. police and the fire brigade
.. as well as ambulance officers.

Police are investigating if drag racing .. drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

They've released an 18-year-old man from Kings Park in Melbourne's west they were questioning
.. who was allegedly driving another car at the time.
