LOGICAL NET RELEASES GREEN DOOR.(BUSINESS)

Colonie Internet service provider Logical Net Corp. has released Green Door, an e-commerce software that diversifies the company's product offerings.

Green Door, which was developed in conjunction with Ezway Solutions Inc., a Schenectady-based software developer, has three separate modules that provide the ability to manage a catalog or inventory, utilize a shopping cart for product selection and process credit-card transactions.

The services range in price from $20 to $40 a month, company marketing specialist Bill Gathen said.

``Unlike some companies, we don't limit the amount of items that customers can have in their catalog or charge them for each item,'' Gathen said. ``They also don't have to call us to make changes. They can do it all themselves.''

Gathen would not say whether Logical Net and Ezway share equal ownership of Green Door.

In order to handle the encryption services needed to process credit-card transactions safely, Logical Net has contracted the services of Go2Pay Inc., a North Greenbush-based e-commerce payment-processing firm spun off IFS International Holdings Inc., a banking software developer.

The Go2Pay services will be used by both Green Door customers and Logical Net's ISP customers; the latter number 30,000 in New York, Massachusetts and Vermont.

So far, Gathen said, the most prominent user of Green Door is MusicWeb.com, a Latham-based online music seller.

Officials at MusicWeb could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
