Lavertu: Lack of information prevents consolidation of Canadian investments.

MEXICO CITY, Mar 03, 2005 (Notimex/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- Canadian Ambassador to Mexico Gaetan Lavertu said that main problem regarding bilateral relations between Mexico and Canada is the lack of information in terms of business opportunities.During a meeting with businessmen from Tijuana, the Canadian diplomat acknowledged, however, that there are numerous Canadians living in Mexico for business or investment reasons.Lavertu commented that Baja California has benefited from important investments made primarily by the United States and Canada. He also reported that he met the Governor of Baja California, Eugenio Elorduy Walther, to discuss the participation of Canadian investors in certain economic sectors in the region.Lavertu stated that more and more Mexicans are traveling to Canada to vacation or work permanently, taking advantage of immigration programs that respond to Canada's needs.
